Review: Gravity Falls – “Into The Bunker”
Oh. My. God.
For the first time, I’m not going to give you a play-by-play synopsis of the episode. There is just way too much awesomeness that took place and you need to see it with your own eyeballs. Instead, I will give you some notes about what went down.
Dipper and Wendy spend some time watching terrible horror movies on Gravity Falls public access television station. We find out that Wendy has broken up with Robbie and does not currently have a boyfriend. Dipper thinks this may be his big chance to be with her but he is scared to tell her how he feels. This subplot runs through the entire episode.
Wendy joins Dipper, Mabel, and Soos on their trip to figure out who wrote the journals. Thanks to the blacklight trick Dipper learned in the previous episode, the gang finds a secret underground bunker.
Mabel covers her face in caterpillars.
The bunker ends up having a myriad of rooms, each more confusing and mysterious than the one before. Instead of what they were searching for, they find something completely different.
I’m sorry that I can’t tell you more about the episode. Just know that this is probably my favorite Gravity Falls episode ever. Granted, this is only the second episode of the season. But this particular episode had creatures and puzzles tied to Dipper’s journal and hints that there will be so much more explained in the future. Seriously. Go watch it for yourself. You will thank me for not spoiling you afterwards.
