Review: Breadwinners “A Crustmas Story”

SwaySway and Buhdeuce are trying to throw a holiday party, but there’s a blizzard going on outside so the two opt to read a story instead. The story involves two elves that have to fill in for Santa but then T-Midi shows up for the party so I guess despite the storm we’re gonna have a party. First, T-Midi decides to read a story, too but nobody likes it. Next up, Ketta shows up with a cookie gun and Oonski shows up with a metal show that’s fucking amazing.

Oonski’s making a mess so the ducks decide to call in some backup in the form of The Bread Maker who cleans house. We also find out that The Break Maker is Santa’s brother and to prove it he tells a story to everyone on how that came to be.  Turns out Bread Maker and Santa had to beat the shit out of a bunch of Ice Moles and declaring the first “Crustmas”.

Santa shows up and delivers a bunch of friends to throw a huge party with a pony riding a skateboard. The cops show up, but it’s just Rambamdoo and she lets things slide.

Our Take

If anyone is looking for a terribly important story or plot line to this episode, you’ll be sorely disappointed. What you do get is a pretty awesome reunion of sorts of all your favorite Breadwinners’ characters as they throw a huge party, read stories, and just have a good time. Oonski’s show was the friggin’ best, but really you’d be hard-pressed to being disappointed about this holiday special. We’d like to see Breadwinners in prime-time more often if possible!
