Matt Groening to Guest Star on ‘Portlandia’
Matt Groening, creator of the show holding the record for most guest stars ever, will now become one himself: the Simpsons mastermind will appear on tonight’s episode of Portlandia.
A native of the real Portland, Oregon, Groening will star as himself on the show, with the plot involving him suing Fred Armisen’s character for making a bootleg Bart Simpson shirt.
Entertainment Weekly recently did an interview with the cartoon creator, and asked him about his Portland upbringing, his love of Portlandia, how the guest spot came about, and what it was like playing himself on TV. (Interesting fact: Groening hasn’t had a walk-on cameo since a 1988 appearance on the Tracey Ullman Show.) Be sure to give it a read for some great anecdotes and Simpsons-related info, as well as an exclusive clip from the episode.
Portlandia airs at 10pm ET on IFC.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
