Amanda Seyfried Says She Pestered Seth MacFarlane for ‘Ted 2’ Role

Generally when casting decisions are made, we think of casting directors (the real ones, not the amateur porn directors that trick girls into giving handies on couches) making important, calculated, big-time Hollywood decisions. That, or a director/producer just picks their friends every time (see: Apatow, Judd; Burton, Tim; Tarantino, Quentin.) Seth MacFarlane fits into the latter category, according to Amanda Seyfried, the star of Ted 2, and a newcomer to the series. She did, however, star in Seth’s A Million Ways to Die in the West earlier this year.

“Seth is very loyal and always has the same team,” she said. “When they would talk about another Ted movie, I would always joke about how they were going to incorporate me into the movie.”

Seyfried even said she went as far as nagging and bugging MacFarlane about it – hoping, yet not believing, it would become a reality.

But then Ashton Kutcher knocked up Mila Kunis, and the stars (pun not intended) aligned.

“I never thought that it would actually happen,” Seyfried said. “I don’t usually like the idea of coming in on a franchise with the second installment, but the Ted sequel is very specific and it worked out that they needed a new female lead. It was awesome that he asked me to do it.”

Ted 2 is slated for a June 26, 2015 release.
