Alex Hirsch Confirms New Gravity Falls for Summer

I think we’ve all assumed there was going to be a second series of Disney’s Gravity Falls but in actuality, season 2 has only just been confirmed.

Here’s might be a good time to remind people of the old adage “assume makes and ass out of you and me”.

If you spend your time frequenting tumblr you might well have taken for granted a follow up season of the hugely popular show, Gravity Falls. However, no one had actually confirmed when a second throw of the dice for the Annie award winning show would actually happen, something the hardcore fandom found on popular social media were quite vocal about.

Back in July it was reported that a second season had been ordered by Disney but at a time when fan favourites such as Phineas and Ferb have been decommissioned it was never a certainty that we would see the continuing adventures of the Pine twins…that is until now…

Yesterday, Gravity Falls creator, Alex Hirsch, announced the show would be returning in Summer of this year. His confirmation was posted on micro blogging platform twitter:

This is great news for fans and a sign that Disney do pay attention to view. The critically acclaimed show reached up to 3.5 million viewers at it’s peek and as I’ve mentioned, a dedicated fan base on tumblr so to me, a second season should have been a no-brainer. Roll on Summer (or whenever the hell season two will get to my end, the UK!).
