English Dub Laid Back Camp “Mini Camping and Yard Camping”

Overview

The Outclub girls decide to make a day of camping in Ena’s yard to cut Aki’s hair and try out their new DIY alcohol stoves. Meanwhile, a new camper takes some smaller trips for herself and starts dreaming big.

Our Take

This time around, we have a bit of a reintroduction of Rin’s friend Ayano from Season 2 which adds a new dynamic to the camping group, while the return of Chikuwa brings joy to fans of Yuru Camp. However, Ena’s attempt at an outdoor haircut for Aki leads to unexpected results, and their sausage-making adventure turns into a lively and fun-filled activity. Despite Ayano’s enthusiasm for camping, Rin expresses apprehension, setting the stage for future outdoor adventures.

I also need to comment on this, but with the new animation team comes new aesthetics. Most notably, the picturesque backgrounds and nature scenes which seem photorealistic and somewhat help evoke a sense of tranquility and semi-realism during the proceedings. Although there are some differences in character designs, the natural charm of the series remains intact, drawing viewers into the serene world of camping and friendship. As the characters embark on new adventures and encounters, the camaraderie and banter among them shine through, showcasing the series’ ability to blend humor and warmth seamlessly.

Overall, despite this feeling like a filler episode, it continued to deliver the show’s slice-of-life charm and humor this show is often known for and looked beyond some of its minor visual differences. The character interactions remain consistent in making them feel like actual human beings, along with the joy that resonates with the audience when they experience joy over the little things. If there’s one major gripe. Some scenes require subtitles. Whether it’s a sign in the background or silent conversations where characters are texting one another, all of it requires reading which kinda of hurts the casual viewer who isn’t always into subtitles in general. Thankfully it didn’t hurt the rest of the episode, and I remain optimistic about what could come next.
